In a food processor fitted with a steel blade, process flour, brown sugar and salt, using on-off pulses, 30 to 45 seconds. Add oats, pecans, and butter. Process 3o seconds longer. Mixture should be chunky.

Peel apples, if desired, then core and cut into thick slices. Lightly grease an 8- or 9- inch baking pan with butter. Places (sic) apples in bottom of the pan. Sprinkle with lemon juice and top with crisp mixture. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 50 minutes to 1 hour, until crisp and bubbly. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired. Makes 6 servings.
