Apple Crisp

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup pecans (toasted)
  • 6 tbsp cold butter (cut into cubes)
  • 6 Rome or Granny Smith apples
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
  1. In a food processor fitted with a steel blade, process flour, brown sugar and salt, using on and off pulses, 30 to 45 seconds.  Add oats, pecans, and butter.  Process 30 seconds longer

     

    Peel apples, if desired, then core and cut into thick slices.

    Lightly grease an 8- or 9-inch baking pan with butter.  Places (sic) apples in the bottom of the pan.  Sprinkle with lemon juice and top with crisp mixture (sic - refers to oat, flour and butter combo above).

    Bake in a 350 degree (F - 178 C) oven for 50 minutes to 1 hour, until crisp and bubbly.  Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.  Makes 6 servings.
