Aunt Julia’s Pineapple Pie

Heat milk. Mix sugar, salt, corn starch and slowly add the hot milk. Cook until thick. Add egg yolks and cook until eggs thicken (about three minutes). Cool and add pineapple and vanilla. Pour into a baked pie crust and cover with the egg whites and powdered sugar beaten into a meingue. Brown in oven until meringue is nicely browned.
