Baked Apple Pudding with Rum Sauce

For the Rum Sauce:

  1. Sift the dry ingredients together. Cream the butter or margarine with the sugar and add the egg and grated apples. Fold in the dry ingredients. Bake in a greased and floured 8 X 8 inch pan twenty-five to thirty minutes at 400 degrees.
  2. Mix a small amount of the cider with the cornstarch until smooth. Add gradually to the remaining cider and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add the butter, the flavorings and stir until incorporated. Serve warm on the apple pudding.
  3. Makes about six servings.
