Mom’s Snickerdoodles

Description

A traditional cookie my Mom made for us at Christmas and other times.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Shortening
  • 1 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 tsp Cream of Tartar
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
  1. Cream shortening, eggs, and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Chill dough.

  2. Roll into balls the size of walnuts -- roll in mixture of 2 Tbsp sugar and 2 tsp of cinnamon.  Place on cookie sheets and bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.
